Over the year it has become tradition of UDS Wa Campus and Now SDD -UBIDS to either make their students do a mandatory National Service or Laddered to various Degree programs of their Institution.
It is double edge sword and I would address the issue of laddering based on the scanty knowledge of research I did with some stakeholders and it is the one that draw much attentions from students. Yes for that reason Applications forms are out thus undergraduate programs which are after us. To the many that have interest in these things are advised to start the purchasing of forms and applying. It starts now and will be available till the end of this Trimesrer. You can go to ADB or get the transaction ID using momo but for records sake you may visit the bank for accountability in my jurisdictions. The form cost 150gh and for us we are to fill in for “awaiting” since our final results on DICD are still pending. That is we are suppose to fill the forms but where it directe us to put in our results, we will direct the cursor to tell the system that we are awaiting so when our final results are out which determines our class would be send to our various departments, faculty or Registrar for the Next Programme of Study.
Nothwistanding, Students will be tasked to choose three different programmes based on their choice and preference. Students can be Laddered to do any program of their choice in the faculty of Planning and Land Management, School of Education and Life Long Learning and the advantageous Faculty of IDS depending on the GPA and class bagged. Students with GPA of 3.5 are in good and better standing as it is second class upper.
For emphasis The HOD for the Economics Department said in our Fresher’s Orientation that no student will be eligible to ladder into economics if they did not get a GPA of 3.5 and above because is somewhat tedious and needs fast thinkers after a question by Sir Salifu Abdul- Matin, one of our own during the faculty Hour in September 2019.
For Education Programmes like BED Social Studies, BED English, BED Dagaare, BED French will be advantageous to us since it is social and Development related course like our very own.
They are equally new courses and you need to look through them carefully in order to Laddered into your strength so that would not be suicidal and keep us wanting when the need arises. I will equally share an article on how to ladder into the then FIDS programme, Courses they pursue in various levels ranging from Level 200- 400 for those interesting in FIDS programmes to choose their best choices.
On the issue of the Nation Service.
Interested final year students are advised to get their Application Vochers at ADB or MTN mobile money and I would share the process with you equally. Tbe release of the pincodes started on the 28th of April 2021 and will end of June 30th of same year. Ample time for that. The Voucher cost 40gh at the bank and 41gh using MTN momo. You will however be required to enter your School Index Number or ID number and the pincode number, the one bought at the bank to enable you fill the form.
