ELIJAH AMANCHAGALE WRITES:
As we count down to the election, it’s essential to remember the power of our collective interest as a country and the significance of voting. In just two days, we’ll have the opportunity to shape our future for the next 4years and create a better world for ourselves and the next generation to come. So, let’s make our voices heard and vote in our numbers for the right president of the Republic of Ghana and workaholic Members of Parliament in our respective constituencies.

Voting is not just a right, but a responsibility that shapes our democracy. As Michelle Obama emphasizes, “You’ve got to vote, vote, vote, vote. That’s it; that’s the way we move forward” Every single vote counts, and by casting our ballots, we’re exercising our civic duty and contributing to the well-being of our country Ghana.

As we approach the election, let’s remember that our votes have the power to create change. As Barack Obama notes, “The future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter”. So, let’s make our voices heard and vote for a better future of our beloved country Ghana.

Let’s also keep in mind the following that will encourage us to go and vote in our numbers;

“Your vote is your power. If you don’t use it, others will use it against you.”
NELSON MANDELA
“Democracy is not a spectator sport. You either participate or let others decide your future.”
ELEANOR ROOSEVELT
“The future belongs to those who vote for it today.”
WINSTON CHURCHILL
“A silent voter empowers the loudest fool.”
UNKNOWN
“To ignore politics is to empower the corrupt.”
ARISTOTLE
“Voting is not just a right, it’s a responsibility to safeguard our future.”
THOMAS JEFFERSON
“In a democracy, non-participation is a vote for the status quo.”
BARACK OBAMA
“When we don’t vote, we endorse the system we complain about.”
JAMES BALDWIN
“An uncast vote is a voice silenced by apathy.”
FREDERICK DOUGLASS
“To abstain from voting is to give your voice to those least deserving of it.”
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

So voting is a fundamental right that shapes our democracy. Let’s exercise our civic duty and vote in our numbers on 7th December, 2024. Remember, every single vote counts, and together, we can create a better Ghana for ourselves and future Generations to come.
