Matriculation is the formal process of entering a University as a Student for Diploma, Degree, Masters or any other higher educational Title.
This shows you are an officially accepted Junior member of the institution (SDD-UBIDS).
It showcases that you tend to be a bonafide member of the institution, recognized as a Junior member and your actions and inactions lead to the effect of the University growth and development.
IMPORTANCE OF MATRICULATION
- It helps one to adduce that you are a duly accepted member of the institution.
- How you want your name to be written in your certificate will be determined during the matriculation, whether the first name first or middle name first or surname first and vice versa.
- Rules and regulations start as a University Student after matriculation.
- Swearing in as an official member happens at the ceremony.
- It helps you to know the hierarchy of Leadership on campus and staff.
- It helps socialize with colleagues and fosters unity for community and national development.
- It gives you the chance to share memories by taking pictures whether soft or hard copies at a cost for remembrance and generations.
WHICH CATEGORY OF STUDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO MATRICULATION IN SDD-UBIDS.
- All L100s must be matriculated.
- All Diploma Laddered Students must also be matriculated.
DO YOU PAY FOR MATRICULATION
Obviously no payment for matriculation. Any other payment will be your will to do so and personal. Eg. Pictures or any other Social life that will cost you an individual and not a group of Students or all Students.
What is the reason why Diploma Laddered Students are Matriculated?
They are solely matriculated because it is believed that their program of study ends within 2 Years period, any other program will need a new start and that is why they are matriculated.
IS MATRICULATION COMPUlSORY.
Matriculation is compulsory if you don’t want to forfeit your admission but otherwise if you want to forfeit.
So I call on all new students who have not reported and those who are already going for lectures to prepare and be there on the matriculation day for their ID Numbers to be documented against their Faculty, Courses, Level, and Signatures.
DRESS CODE FOR MATRICULATION
There is no uniformly accepted dress code for matriculation but any other official dress is widely accepted.
HOURS FOR MATRICULATION
The ceremony ends within an hour or two from 07:00am depending on the punctuality of the guests. Names writing depends on the first come first serve policy in the queue.
DATE FOR THE MATRICUlATION.
The date for the matriculation is slated for the 19th day of March 2022 at Hall 3C of the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies.
NAMES WRITING ARE USUALLY DONE ON FACULTY BASIS BY(List of Faculties will be released by management).
- School of Business and Law
- School of Education and Life-Long Learning
- Faculty of Integrated Development Studies.
- Faculty of Planning and Land Management
- Faculty of Social Policy and Governance
- Faculty of Social Science and Arts
- Faculty of Information Communication and Technology.
